I love the weeks that follow holiday weekends. They’re short, sweet and generally better than 5-day work weeks—especially now that it’s officially summer! It was so wonderful to start my week in a house that was mostly put together because my to-do list was pretty long. I did get ahead before the move, but now I’m back to square one—oh well.
After a week of yoga pants and poor eating, I’m finally feeling like my old self. I made a big grocery haul earlier this week and loaded up on veggies and fruits and I’ve been cooking breakfast, lunch and dinner at home every day this week. A bunch of the recipes I made this week were inspired by Love & Lemons. We’re not vegetarian or vegan, so I added lean protein to most of the dishes I made, but either way, it was nice to switch things up! Best of all, I already feel tremendously better. I also treated myself to a mini at-home spa, aka applying a face mask, almost every night. Two of my current favorites are this brightening mask (my skin literally glows after this!) and this resurfacing mask (this one is amazing for smoothing the texture of my skin).
Another one of the highlights, okay, definitely the best part of my week was visiting Shaheen and her new baby boy, Zain! He’s absolutely precious and I’m so excited for her and Trevor! Even though Shaheen and I are not related, I pretty much feel like a new aunt to little Zain!
Lastly, it finally feels like summer, or at least the beginning of it and I pulled out and wore some of my new pieces (more to come next week!). I finished organizing my closet and it definitely made me want to do some shopping, so I rounded up some fun summer finds today—almost every piece is under $100! My favorites are this floral one shoulder top and this simple wrap dress. What are you favorites?
