About Hi there, I’m Blair (Culwell) Staky, and welcome to The Fox & She. Before we dive into what this blog is all about, let me tell you a little bit about me. I grew up in Dallas, Texas and moved to Chicago in the spring of 2012 when my boyfriend, now husband, Rob, got a new job. Admittedly I was nervous about the move, but it’s turned out to be exactly where I’m suppose to be. Rob and I got married in the summer of 2014 at the Chicago History Museum and moved to Streeterville, where we currently reside with our shiba inu, Oliver, who makes occasional appearances on the blog. Fun fact: Oliver looks just like a fox and was the inspiration behind the name The Fox & She. With the move came a career change too. I went from working full time for my family business, to working part time for my family, and working full-time for my freelance blog design company, Leap. In 2016, I made the tough decision to close my design business to focus on The Fox & She. It’s been a big change, but every morning I’m thankful that I have a job that allows me to use my creative side and explore it more every day. When I’m not blogging, my hobbies include photography, yoga, cooking and traveling. Now that you know a little bit more about me, here’s what you can expect from The Fox & She! Launched in 2013, The Fox & She celebrates the stylish, healthful, colorful and abundant life that’s enviable, yet attainable. I believe that life should be fulfilling, inspired and authentic to you. You’ll also find a large collection of personal style and outfit inspiration to help you dress confidently, interior design ideas to create a home that reflects you, beauty & wellness tips that’ll make you glow inside and out, thought-provoking questions (because I want to know what you’re thinking too!), travel diaries and the occasional DIY project. After riding the roller coaster of digestive health issues for nearly 10 years, I finally decided to share more of my health journey with you. I’m passionate about living a healthy and more balanced life, being kinder to my body and mind by choosing better, non-toxic products, and actively choosing positivity and joy each day. What I’ve discovered is that we’re all capable and deserving of feeling our best and living a beautiful and radiant life we love. Through my blog I hope to encourage women everywhere to find what makes them happy and live their best lives each and every day. Thank you for stopping by, I’m glad you’re here! I’ve answered some FAQs below, but feel free to reach out with any other questions you have! FAQs What kind of camera do you use and how do you edit your pictures? I use a Canon 6D and 35mm 1.4ii lens. I shoot in RAW and edit my photos in Lightroom with a preset I created. I also love playing with VSCO filters and this pack is my favorite. I want to start a blog, but I don’t know where to start! Any suggestions? Yes, I have a TON of suggestions. First off, definitely start on self-hosted WordPress if you’re serious about blogging. It’s the very best platform and all of the top bloggers you know about are using it. If you’re stuck on the technical stuff, follow this tutorial and you’ll have your blog set-up and running in just a few minutes! Do you have any advice for bloggers? You’ve probably heard this one before, but be yourself because no one else is exactly like you. But if you want more advice and tips on making your blog grow and thrive, I actually co-run a site called Blogging For Keeps where we share our best blogging advice and so much more! Who takes your photos? For the most part, most of my photos are shot by Shaheen Khan, Jules Kennedy and occasionally my husband. You can typically find the photographer’s credit at the end of posts! What size do you wear in clothing and shoes? I usually wear a small on top and 25 or 0-2 on the bottom. As for shoes, a good ole 8.5 or 9!
