If you’ve been reading my site for a while, you already know that both my sister and Rob’s sister are both getting married this year, and their weddings are just one month apart from each other!
Needless to say, we’re so excited! When I look back at our own engagement and wedding, it brings a smile to my face. Yes, certain parts of planning a wedding are incredibly stressful and exhausting, but more than anything, it’s such a fun time and I’m so excited that they’re both going through it!
We’ve already had several different wedding events for them and more coming up, so both of us have been expanding the dressier side of our wardrobes to accommodate all the different parties. We don’t typically have a lot of fancy events in Chicago, so when the opportunity presents itself, we jump!
We do date night at least once a week and usually it’s pretty casual, but with our newly expanded wardrobes, we decided to switch up our typical date night for something a little more special!
Rob wore this navy suit and dot print shirt, and I wore this gorgeous black dress (also love this one and this one), paired with strappy heels, statement earrings and a classic clutch. Both of our looks are from Express and will be perfect for all of our upcoming wedding events! Also, this dress fits like a glove — I’m obsessed!
What I love about both of our looks is that they’re classic, but have small details that make them unique — like the tiny dots on Rob’s dress shirt and the unique cut of this black dress, and the fun tassel detail on this clutch.
We started our night at the Art Institute, the area surrounding the museum is so beautiful! After we wandered around the museum we headed out for a nice dinner downtown.
Getting dressed up for a fancy date night was so fun and made the night feel extra special! I’m already looking forward to wearing this dress again for upcoming parties!
Do you ever get extra dressed up for date night? Do you have lots of weddings this summer too?
