I can’t believe it, but by this time next week, we’ll be on our way to the airport to board a plane headed somewhere warmer. We’re heading to Orange County for a quick vacation with Rob’s family. It’s been a mild winter, but nothing beats sunshine and warm weather, am I right?! I’m also really excited about this trip, because it’s the first family trip we’re taking now that Rob’s sister is married! I’ve never been to Orange County either, so I’m looking forward to exploring a new place for a few days. Though, I might end up spending most of my time by the pool—don’t judge.
I’ve started thinking about what to pack, and lately, I’ve been reaching for comfortable and casual pieces that I feel confident and relaxed in. I picked up this cute knotted dress from Anthropologie and wore it a few weeks ago, and I can’t wait to wear it again in California. The fabric is super soft and it has the slightest stretch to it. The color is beautiful too!
When the weather cooperates, dresses are my go-to outfit during the warmer months. I love having my closet stocked with simple, wearable dresses like the one I’m wearing above and these below. It’s always tempting to buy the fancier pieces, but these types of dresses are the ones that I ultimately wear the most.
On a different topic, my sneaker obsession continues. I’ve been wearing these bronze, perforated sneakers any chance I get and have a few more pairs that I have my eye on! I love that these sneakers don’t look like athletic wear and can really go with anything from shorts, jeans, skirts and dresses. They seriously can give any outfit a cool, casual vibe instantly.
I was thinking back to last year’s trips to Mexico and L.A. that I took about the same time and they were seriously magical. It’s so nice to get a break from winter and get a jump start on my summer tan! I hope this next week goes by quickly because all I can think about is parking myself by the pool and reading lots of books. Speaking of which, I need some suggestions—do you have any good books I need to read?
What is your go-to outfit for spring? Do you have any trips planned this next month?
