Is it too early to be thinking about my Fourth of July plans?!
To be honest, most years we don’t do anything too wild, but I’m already looking forward to the holiday weekend because we actually have big plans this year. In the past we’ve spent the weekend in Denver, or at the lake in Michigan. I don’t even remember what we did last year, but I think we were in town….? I can’t really remember!
But, this year, we’ll be in Aspen with my whole family—mom, dad, sisters, husbands and boyfriends and I can’t wait! The only thing that’s missing will be all the pups, ha! Since we’re all scattered across the country, trips like this become incredibly special and something I look forward to for months. Ever since we made the plans, I randomly have been texting my family members telling them how excited I am for the trip!
Our plan for the Fourth of July is to go into Aspen, technically we’re staying in Snowmass, to watch the parade and find somewhere to have lunch—if it’s not too crowded. I’ve been keeping my eyes peeled for dresses and tops that I can wear that weekend and have found some awesome stuff. Blue and white are always my go-to colors for summer since they’re so light and breezy and keep me cooler than dark colors. All I’ll have to do is add a pop of red! I’m thinking a pair of statement earrings in the bold hue will do the trick!
The rest of our trip isn’t very rigid, but will definitely involve some hiking, biking and picnicking. Hiking is one of my all time favorite outdoor activities and I cannot wait to get to the mountains and smell that fresh air! If you can’t tell, I love Colorado in the summertime—it’s my happy place!
What plans do you have for the Fourth of July weekend? Which patriotic pieces below are catching your eye?!
The rickrack details that I’ve been seeing lately takes me straight back to my childhood. I love the red, white and blue on this cute off the shoulder top. How fun would this be with cut-off denim shorts?
If you have a dressier party to go to on the 4th of July or even a summer wedding, this dress is GORGEOUS. Lace, midi, ruffles, off the shoulder—basically it combines all of my favorite things!
The crochet detail on this one-piece is amazing. I’m not usually a red girl, but I love this shade and suit.
I just ordered these and can’t wait to wear them with all things white this summer. They’re surprisingly light-weight.
I recently added a few pairs of slides to my wardrobe and I’ve been loving them. This navy suede pair is simple and classic!
I LOVE high-neck bikini tops! It has such a sporty feel and the colors in this one are perfect for summer.
I almost bought this a few days ago! Now that I’m looking at it again, I might have to go back. It’s simple, bohemian and so easy for summer.
The top of this dress is smocked—so fun and comfortable! This is a dress you can wear all summer long!
You really can’t go wrong with a good breezy maxi dress. I love how simple this one is and the ruffle detail at the bottom is pefection!
I can’t really wear my denim skirt right now, but it’s such an all-American classic summer staple! The raw edge is my favorite part.
I adore this top! It’s just slightly cropped, but would look so dang cute with white jeans and wedges.
Okay, is it just me or is anyone else equally in love with ruffles like this lately? They’re so girly and fun!
Raise your hand if you love pineapples?! These are so cute and I love the red bead at the end for a pop of color!
If we were going to the lake this year, this suit would 100% be in my shopping cart. It’s only $80 too!
Lately, I’ve been loving the tie front (maybe because I can actually fill them out now?!). This romper is adorable! Just add red earrings or shoes.
Chambray is so classic for the summer! The tie detail on the shoulders makes this shirt extra special.
I’m not a big shorts girl, but I’ve always loved how these J.Crew chino shorts fit and they come in multiple lengths! They always have such fun colors too!
I’ve been opting for looser dresses these days, but pregnant or not, I love this dress. It’s breezy and comfortable and would look adorable with wedges or sandals.
