Our second day in Los Angeles started pretty early too. We had gone to bed super early the night before because we’d woken up so early for our flight out there, but it was nice to be up before anyone else on the weekend! We headed over to the Arts District to grab a coffee at Zinc and then headed to the flower market.
Once we got inside I was so bummed we weren’t staying longer so we could have bought some flowers. There were gorgeous peonies, hydrangeas, ranunculus and a plethora of succulents, cactuses and fiddle leaf fig tress. Side note, I’m totally getting a cactus for our home. I’m so obsessed with the way they look! Rob’s a little skeptical because he fell on one when he was little, but I think he’ll get over it when he sees how cute it is!
I wore this wrapped maxi dress from Yumi Kim which ended up being perfect. It was a bit chilly, but warm in the sun, so having my legs covered was nice and I could throw a light jacket on if I got too cold. It was the perfect length and the adjustable straps and wrap-style of the dress make it a perfect fit every time I put it on! Yumi Kim makes gorgeous maxi dresses and I’m also loving this one and this one.
I got this bag just before we left and this lion brown color is now available online! It’s actually the first tote bag that I’ve ever owned, crazy, I know, but now I don’t know how I’ve gone so long without one. It’s incredibly versatile and holds so much which was perfect for long days of exploring. The striped canvas interior and tassel detail makes this tote extra special.
After we left the flower market we drove to Santa Monica to do some exploring. We had the yummiest sandwiches at Mendocino Farms and sat on the patio in the sun which felt amazing. Sidecar Donuts was located next door and I now regret not getting one. It smelled pretty delicious. After lunch we walked around the beautiful surrounding neighborhoods and soaked up the sun.
We drove back over to Venice for a bit after that. We wanted to try Lemonade so we did! The cucumber mint was so delicious and refreshing and made the trip back over there worth it.
We were surprisingly worn out after our day so we decided on a more casual spot for dinner in Silver Lake called Barbrix. We sat outside on the heated patio and had wine and a tapas style dinner that was perfect for our energy level that night.
This day was definitely my favorite of our trip! Have you been to Santa Monica and Venice? Did you love them as much as I did?
