Look for Less: Boho Living Room
I don’t know what it is about this time of year, but I always get the urge to make some changes around the home. Perhaps it’s because we’ve been spending so much time inside and I’m subconsciously sick of looking at the same space over and over and over again. Don’t get me wrong, I love our home, but it’s okay to dream, right? The older I get, the more defined my style becomes and the more I crave a peaceful space with less visual clutter where we can relax at the end of the night. This room definitely falls into that category. I love the colors, textures and patterns at play in this space! It looks layered and collected over time which gives it a really home-y feel in my opinion!
So, below I created a similar look for less! I even found a fiddle leaf fig tree that won’t die (because it’s not real)! I’ve been through several of them and while the real thing is great, they seem to be impossible to keep alive, well, at least for me, and they’re not cheap.
Faux Fiddle Leaf Fig Tree | Wicker Pendant | Abstract Art | Velvet Couch, another similar one | Vintage Rug, also love this one and this one | Straw Baskets | Horse Print | Glass Vase & Willow Stems | Live Edge Coffee Table | Tripod Floor Lamp | Wooden Bench | Sheepskin Rug | Accent Chair, also love this one | Hmong Pillow Cover
This whole room just makes me want to cozy up with a cup of coffee and a good book and forget about the fact that my real house is still messy and covered in baby toys. I’ve actually been wanting to get some new chairs for our living room and I love these! But, I’m holding off because I’m not sure how long we’ll be in the apartment, and with my luck, I’d buy them and find out they don’t fit in our next home. Probably the best thing about this look-a-like room is that I’ve found pieces that are pretty affordable! Yes, a couch and rug will still cost you a pretty penny, but they’re not over the top expensive!
Let me know what you guys think about this type of post. I had a really fun time putting it together (and browsing online interior design sites!) and might turn it into a monthly series if you like it!
Do you get the itch to make updates to your space early in the new year? What changes would you like to make to your home?
