I have to admit, I was few ciders in when these photos were taken, but I’d like to think that it makes me a little more natural in front of the camera. A week ago we had some friends in town for Cider Con (yep, it’s a thing!). Paired with the conference, there was a cider festival at Navy Pier. After I went gluten free, I found that I really love cider, so I was intrigued. For the most part my experience is that some are sweet and the others are sweeter. Thankfully the cider festival changed my mind. I had some really incredible ones that weren’t sweet, but instead almost beer-y tasting. Did I just make up a word?
That Saturday was also unseasonably warm for Chicago, so instead of the puffy coat, I opted for a casual weekend outfit including a cozy sweater, my short peacoat, cuffed jeans and slip-on sneakers. It felt really nice to show a little ankle outside and be able to take my coat off without being covered in goosebumps.
The weather has since turned and we’re now back to freezing and even negative temperatures, but it was a nice tease. It reminded me of how wonderful the summer is in Chicago and that I need to do 3 months of work prior to to that so I can play hooky all summer and go to the beach.
