As you probably already know, last weekend I was in Dallas for the RewardStyle Conference. Our first stop off the plane was my favorite Tex-Mex spot, Taco Diner. After I’d talked it up so much, I was little worried that it wouldn’t live up to the hype, but Kelly and Shaheen both loved it!
After lunch, the weekend really kicked into full gear and didn’t slow down until we got back to Chicago on Sunday morning. It was a super busy weekend, but also a really productive and fun one. I got the chance to meet (in person!) several bloggers from around the country who I absolutely admire! The other added benefit of the conference being in Texas was that it wasn’t cold at all. In fact, it was nearly 90 degrees our first day which felt amazing coming from snowy and rainy Chicago.
For the first full day of the conference, I wore a casual and comfortable outfit since I knew it was going to be a long one. I went with this high-neck linen tank that’s super soft, this new denim midi skirt that I’m obsessed with and these mules that continue to be one of my favorite purchases this spring — they’re incredibly comfortable!! As for a bag, I brought along my new leather backpack from Armadio, a new leather goods company that recently launched! It was perfect for a day like this because I could easily throw it on my back and have my hands free for holding coffee and shaking hands of all the new people I met.
The whole purpose of Armadio is to make high quality hand-crafted Italian leather goods that you can find on the streets of Florence straight to you. These hand-crafted pieces are designed by artisans and Italy and available to you and me at amazing prices. They have so many beautiful bags, shoes and a gorgeous moto jacket among other items, but I opted for the Hannover backpack because I find that it’s easier to get around town when I have my hands free. No more fumbling for my Ventra card when I get on the train and traveling through the airport is a million times easier when I can easily grab my ticket.
Other than convenience I’m obsessed with the bag because of the way it looks too. Its simple, classic styling ensures that it’ll be a piece that I use for years and the color of the leather is stunning and will only get better with time. The smell of brand new leather doesn’t hurt either. If you’re in the market for a new bag, definitely check out Armadio, I really think you’ll be as impressed with the quality and prices as I am!
After our day, we ran home and changed before heading to the garden party hosted by Joe Fresh. The party was complete with hanging swings that were covered in gorgeous white orchids and yummy lemonade cocktails. After the party we grabbed a late dinner with Jenn and her sweet husband, Bob, at Neighborhood Services before calling it a night.
The rest of the weekend was just as fun, but by the time Saturday night came, I was absolutely exhausted. Two full days of networking and talking really took it out of me and I fell asleep at 10pm while my friends were inside talking to my parents — oops! Thankfully we’ll be back in a couple of weeks for my sister’s engagement party so I’ll get a chance to spend more time with them then.
In the meantime, I’m crossing my fingers for warmer weather in Chicago so I can wear this entire outfit again — it was definitely one of my favorites from the weekend!
