Dreaming of Spring
Thanks to Ann Taylor, a brand I love and trust, for sponsoring this post! Collaborations like help keep The Fox & She up and running!
I love January for the sense of hope it brings. It’s a chance to wipe the slate clean and start fresh with new goals and ideas. Whatever happened last year, whoever you were last year can officially be put on the shelf (if you so desire). And this year, you can accomplish anything you put your mind to.
However hopeful January can be, my mood can be swiftly altered when I look out my window. The cold hard truth is staring back at me—it’s still winter. The store windows on Michigan Ave with their crop tops, skirts and bikinis might be trying to trick me, but I know better.
On especially cold and grey days, I’ve been letting my mind wander to warmer places—the beach perhaps? Southern California, Mexico or Greece? Oh, yes, Greece sounds pretty dreamy, doesn’t it? I’ve always wanted to go to Santorini or Mykonos! If I think hard enough, I can almost feel the warm air surrounding me (or maybe I turned the heat up too high?). Either way, the thought of walking down the streets of somewhere sunnier and warmer right now sounds wonderful. I’d be wearing a colorful floral dress, open toe heels and a bright jacket—like this look from Ann Taylor.
I’ve always been a sucker for a good floral in the spring. There’s something so fresh, vibrant and feminine about them! The soft watercolor pastels in this dress are so beautiful and the pop of the green jacket makes me feel like everything is in full bloom, even though there’s barely even grass outside.
It’s not quite spring here, but I’m already looking forward to it. When spring hits, it brings with it those same feelings of hope that January does, and also flowers, warm weather and more sunshine! I’ve already got a whole list of spring pieces I’m dying to add to my closet (how cute are these leopard mini heels!) and I linked to a few below. Thankfully, we do have a few trips planned to warmer places, so I’ll actually get to use them!
Even though it’s only January, are you also dreaming of spring weather and raised hemlines? What pieces do you have your eye on for the next season?
