Well, they’re finally here! They’ve technically been with me for quite some time now, but it took me a while to go through all of them and it was even harder to pick just a few to put up here! Our photographer, Taylor Lord, did an absolutely amazing job of capturing the most special moments and emotions over the whole weekend. She is truly one talented lady. Taylor shoots in film, which gave the images such a dreamy ethereal look. If photography is a big thing to you like it is for me, I highly suggest a film photographer for your big day!
I’ll be sharing a few more posts over the next couple of weeks of different parts of the wedding, but today, it’s all about getting ready! We prepped at the Public Chicago in a gorgeous all white suite that was perfect and relaxing, especially considering how insanely nervous I was. I have to admit, I really don’t like people looking at me, so knowing what was to come, gave me serious butterflies. Thankfully, my mom, sisters and sweet bridesmaids made me more relaxed!
Some of my favorite images from above are putting on my dress. You spend all day getting your hair and make-up done and sitting around, then suddenly it’s time to go! You put on your dress, take more pictures and then everything really gets started! Picking out what to wear on your wedding is probably one of the most fun things about planning a wedding. I tried on several dresses before deciding to wear my mom’s wedding gown. We had the high-neck, back and sleeves removed to make it more modern, but knowing that it was hers made it even more special and emotional (cue tears). That checked the ‘something borrowed’ box! My ‘something blue’ was my great grandmother’s aquamarine necklace that was passed down to me on my 18th birthday and my ‘something new’ were my sparkly shoes.
One of the last shots is also one of my favorites. My sisters and I all have semi-matching rings from Becky Kelso that our parents got for us when we turned 21. I like to think of them as sister-friend rings as those two girls are my best friends in the whole wide world, how’d I get to so lucky?
Going back through these pictures makes me smile! It was such a perfect day, despite the nerves and these images capture the mood so perfectly. Make sure to stop by throughout the week, I’ll be sharing another moment (my favorite, actually!) later this week.
