I hope you guys are having a good weekend! This one is a busy one for us—we’ve got Owen’s birthday party this afternoon and tomorrow, Owen and I are leaving for Texas. Have I packed yet?! Hmm. Not really, ha! But, that’s okay, I’ve got until tomorrow afternoon.

I’ve got a double-whammy for ya today—a gift guide for moms and dads! If you missed the gift guide for dads, I posted it earlier this morning and you can view it here.

But, for moms! I love shopping for my mom and here’s why. She doesn’t really shop much for herself, so getting to surprise her with something really special on Christmas always makes me so happy! Here are some of my favorite ideas:

Classics

My mom is a practical lady—she likes to buy pieces she knows she’ll get a lot of use out of, so when I’m shopping for her, I like to take that same mindset and approach her shopping that way! Classic pieces are always a good idea because they won’t be out of style the very next year.

I love this classic long coat (she’s always cold), these gorgeous velvet bow mules or a simple pair of black leather mules if your mom isn’t into leopard (mine is!). A good cable knit scarf is also a great gift and won’t break the bank!

Home Stuff

My mom loves their home and spends a lot of time there, so I always love giving home gifts. Cute decor pieces or good entertaining pieces like this pretty marble cheeseboard. I also love giving her candles or a diffuser (this scent is one of her favorites for winter) because I know she’ll use them.

Lastly, these are technically slippers, but are designed to be worn around the house and they’re so much more chic than your bath slippers.

Beauty

My mom loves when I give her beauty stuff, easily her favorite! Whenever she comes over, she browses through my cabinets and usually leaves with a few things. I think beauty products or fun sets aren’t something we typically buy for ourselves which makes them such special gifts! One of my favorite sets for moms is this Best of Beautycounter set that includes a mini oil, my favorite cleansing balm (my mom’s fave too), Countermatch (the moisturizer I use everyday) and the charcoal mask! I also love the Instant Awakening Trio that includes the Resurfacing Peel, the Shimmer and Shine Body Set and this Transforming Lip Duo.

Travel

Now that my parents are kid-free at home, they travel a lot more, so good travel gifts are an easy gift that I know she’ll use and love. I have this alpaca cape and it’s so great for travel b/c it can be worn as a cape, or as a chunky scarf. Since my mom is always cold, I know she’d love it! These leather travel sets are also my all time favorite makeup bag set! A good passport holder is a great stocking stuffer too!

Cuyana is one of my favorite places to shop for beautiful leather pieces that are great for travel! I also have their zipper tote and overnight bag and they are gorgeous! They have a cool feature on their site that allows you to send a hint to someone too, makes it easy to get the things you actually have your eye on, ha!

Add-On Gifts

Sometimes I find a little something extra something that I love to pop in her stocking or as a little add-on gift. Things like reading glasses (these are so chic!) because she loses them constantly, L’Occitane’s amazing hand cream or a pretty pair of earrings.

P.S. Check out ALL of my gift guides and my holiday shop too!
