I bought this dress over the summer and have really been shocked by how much I’ve worn it. I guess the simple stripes and neutral color makes it one of the easiest things to grab when I’m in a hurry. I’ve worn it with this military jacket numerous times, but decided to switch up last week and throw on this trench vest and a pair of heeled leather boots.

I really love this look. It’s casual, yet polished and paired with this dark red lip? Perfect for fall weekends! Speaking of the weekend, how was yours? Ours was a super casual and relaxed one! Rob and I had a fancy dinner in on Friday. I made filet mignon and rosemary-garlic mashed potatoes that were fabulous. I always use Ina Garten’s recipe for steaks, but don’t add the extra butter her recipe calls for. They’re perfect every time! Definitely a good recipe to know!

I spent Saturday afternoon at a goodbye brunch at Little Goat for our friend Jill who is moving to Utah at the end of the month! After brunch I popped into Soho House with a few friends to get a bit of work done — I’m trying to wrap everything up before we leave for Europe later this week.

Sunday we played football with our friends in the park and then spent the rest of the day watching more football and making chili. I can’t tell you the last time we had a weekend that was this relaxing, and boy, it was glorious! I have to admit, I’ve been stressed and exhausted lately and this weekend was the first time in a long time that I felt like I could just relax and enjoy everything again.

Is anyone else checking out early for Thanksgiving?! I can’t wait until Thursday!
