Last Tuesday night I headed to one of my favorite spots in the city, the Public Hotel, for a night of wine tasting, delicious food, great conversation and an incredible view with a group of some of my favorite bloggers in Chicago. The amazing al fresco wine night was hosted by The Everygirl and Kendall-Jackson wines and was such a treat!

I have a soft spot in my heart for the Public Hotel because it’s where we stayed during our wedding weekend. We got ready in the gorgeous Elizabeth Taylor suite and Rob and I stayed there the night after our wedding. The rooms are all white and so gorgeous! I was ready to move in by the end of the weekend. Anyway, I always love coming back to this hotel because it brings back some of the happiest moments of my life.

So, as you can imagine, the setting for TheEverygirl and Kendall-Jackson Wine Nights couldn’t have been more perfect in my mind. The night started with small bites that paired perfectly with the first wine of the night, their Kendall-Jackson Vintner’s Reserve Pinot Gris. After we sat down, the rest of the dinner came out and was equally as delicious as our first bites. We tasted four more wines from three of Kendall-Jackson’s collections: Vintner’s Reserve, Grand Reserve and AVANT. I got to sit next to one of Kendall-Jackson’s wine girls so I felt pretty educated by the end of the night and after tasting the full collection, my two favorites were the Sauvignon Blanc and the Rose, though all were great!

The dinner finished with some pretty delicious cinnamon sugar donuts and more great conversation. Some of the girls stayed a little longer at the Library Bar, which may or may not have been the smartest decision — Wednesday morning was a little rough, but it was worth it for all the fun we had!

Thanks again to Kendall-Jackson and TheEverygirl for such an amazing and beautiful night. I’m thankful that I got the opportunity to taste all the fabulous wines from Kendall-Jackson and I can’t wait to pick some up for summer picnics on the lakefront. Stop by tomorrow to see what I wore to the event!
