Whenever we travel, I usually fill my bags with lots of neutral pieces. I tend to be a bit indecisive about what to wear so I like to have options. But, I also hate when I overpack! To avoid that, I end up packing lots of neutral basics that I can easily mix and match to create several different outfits. I end up packing less, but still have plenty of things to wear! This was especially helpful during our Christmas trip to Dallas because half of my bag was filled with baby-related things and I didn’t have as much room for my own stuff!
In my opinion, there’s nothing more classic than jeans and a white top, so naturally that was in the mix. It’s classic and always looks great! I actually find that I wear this combo just about any time I can’t decide what to wear. Hence why I called it a “never-fail” outfit! Just because it’s simple doesn’t mean it’s boring! I wore ripped skinny jeans and a white sweater with ruffles to give it more personality and finished my look with these simple black booties and this suede moto jacket—more neutrals!
A few of my other never-fail pieces that I packed during this trip were a good striped shirt, leopard heels, a cable knit sweater and these sneakers. I’ll be sharing another outfit I wore that used these pieces later this week too!
We didn’t have too many plans during our trip, except for a little party that grandparents hosted at their place, so I wore this outfit that night. It was so much fun to catch up with all my cousins, aunts and grandparents for the evening and was a good test run for taking Owen out. We packed all of his goodies, including a bottle, diapers, wipes, and an extra outfit, which we thankfully didn’t need! We did have to change a diaper on the bathroom floor though, haha! Good thing I’d brought an extra blanket to put down! The whole trip was really casual and relaxed, and I’m already wishing we had those extra hands for helping out with Owen again!
