A Few Things
{ Oliver snoozing on a sheepskin rug… which he soon attempted to shred }
{ a hot cup of coffee in my favorite room in the house }
{ a painting I recently started, but didn’t get time to finish — more of this in January }

{ new paint brushes, charcoal pencils and other artsy goodies — ready for my return }
Well, today is the day! I’m leaving my place in a few short hours, and at this exact moment, I haven’t started packing. I don’t know why this always happens!
I can’t tell you ready I am to be at home. Anyone else? It’s been a really crazy and busy past few months and I really need some time to relax and recharge before the new year. I’m still working on several (really gorgeous) blog designs, but after yesterday, I finally felt like I had was at a good point with work. It’s now time to admit that I had several freak outs where I just looked at my list of things to do and felt like it was never going to end. That’s going to have to be a New Year’s resolution — only take on what you can handle. That’s been a tough lesson for me to learn!
Either way, I’m thrilled to be headed home and woke up at my first alarm — no snoozing today! For all those traveling today or in the next few days — get home safely!! For now, I’ll leave with you a few shots of my life lately. I could have posted about 20 of Oliver, but I refrained.
By the Tree
I can’t believe that I’ll be heading to Dallas tomorrow for Christmas! Seriously, where has the time gone? Every year I try and plan ahead to be on top of things before the holidays so I can lay around and ready by the fire, but it never really happens that way. I’m finally feeling like I’m mostly caught up on work and my massive list of to-dos is finally dwindling down. That’s the best feeling.
Now it’s time to pack my bags and head home to celebrate. All the girls in my family are going to have tea on Friday afternoon, and I think it’ll be the perfect time to pull this frock out again. I love the lace overlay on the top and the tulle bottom — it just feels so festive! It’s also really comfortable, so I think that’s decided. The best part in my opinion? It’s got a lot going on its own so I pair it with simple jewelry, tights and black booties and head out the door! Just don’t forget your coat!

Stocking Stuffers
I don’t know about you, but in years past, this is typically the week where I START my holiday shopping. Yes, you heard that right, start. I’m happy to say that’s not the case this year. I did most of my shopping over Black Friday & Cyber Monday from the comfort of my couch. I don’t know what I’d do without online shopping!
Now that most of the big stuff is done, there’s a little room left for me to fill with little knick-knacks and tiny sweet last-minute items. While I’d be happy to see any of these in my stocking, I’m in love with this scarf and these earrings.
