I can’t believe that I’m heading home for Christmas in a short 4 days! I have so much to get done before I leave, but I’m really excited!
To get into the holiday spirit, we packed our bags for our third annual cabin trip and left the city for some peace and quiet in Wisconsin. The cabin was literally called ‘Cabin-n-the-Woods’ and was just that — out in the middle of no where, backed up to the woods and so serene. For the most part, we relaxed, played games, ate chili, enchiladas and drank a fair amount of beer.
I definitely needed the break — as soon as I left the hustle and bustle of my everyday life, I realized how exhausted I was and ended up treating myself to a very long nap on Saturday. I didn’t even make it outside until Sunday morning before we left. It was such a gorgeous, sunny day with fresh snow on the ground. Despite being beautiful, it was also freezing, a balmy 6 degrees that morning. I layered up in one of my favorite tartan shirts, a simple ivory sweater, slouchy vest (just found an amazing similar one here!), and my new fedora. The hat was a total impulse buy last Friday, but I’m absolutely loving it and it’s actually quite warm!
To top it all off, it snowed a couple of inches while we were there which was such a beautiful extra treat and made me even more excited to head home and see my family! Who else is ready to go home for the holidays?
