The Mile High City

Rob and I flew to Denver last week for the 4th of July and a family friend’s wedding. It was such a wonderful break, and something I definitely needed. We slept late, relaxed, exercised a bit, sat by the pool, ate tasty food and danced at the wedding. The morning of the wedding, Rob and I drove to Red Rocks Amphitheater for a short hike and for me to actually see the amphitheater.
We didn’t have a ton of time, and the 40 minute round trip hike was perfect for the morning. Not only was it a good workout (hello, altitude!), but it was also a great place to get quite the view. I wish we could have stayed a little longer and gone to the mountains to do some real hiking, but we’ll be back!
This week has been spent catching up on lots and lots of work — two blog launches already! Check out The Style & Beauty Doctor & JJ Begonia when you have a moment. Danielle’s blog is full of great tips that I most definitely need to learn and Carlynn’s is full of some pretty delicious looking recipes and drinks! With Marianne vacationing this month, I’m trying to stay as focused as possible to stay on top of things, which, fortunately, seems to be working! Well, for now anyway — happy hump day!
Miss Business

As I mentioned last week, I launched another exciting project late last night! I’m very happy to introduce to you the new Miss Business!
Krystal Harrell is a go-getter and seriously driven business woman. She was named Fortune Magazine’s Next Generation Female Entrepreneur and she’s only 25. I first learned about Krystal on one of my favorite sites, The Everygirl when they did a career feature on her, so when she contacted me about her project, I was thrilled to be a part of recreating her new brand’s look.

I’m loving her new design. It’s professional, sleek and modern with a touch of girly whimsy that rounds the whole thing out. I can’t wait to what all she has in store, I know there’s soon to be features on female entrepreneurs and I think we know how I feel about that (AWESOME!).
So finally, please go check out Krystal’s site and find your inner-entreprenur!
When Life Gives You Lemons
These past few weeks have been super super busy, but I’m so super excited to announce that one of the projects I’ve been working on launched this morning.
Drumroll please…. SWEET LEMON MAGAZINE!

I was overjoyed when SL brand manager, Brittney, emailed me asking if I’d be interested in working with them even though their deadline was in a month. I adore the magazine, and respect these busy girls. They’ve got full schedules and still put out a fabulous product every issue.
I knew it was going to be a tough month, and it was. I had my fair share of breakdowns the week before we launched, but in the end it paid off. For the amount of time editor in chief Paris and I spent on the phone and g-chatting, you’d think we were married.
After a few last minute calls and g-chatting into the wee hours of the nigh, the new look of Sweet Lemon Magazine finally arrived. Along with their latest issue, you’ll find a new logo, created by the SL art director, Meghan, and a new site that I got the pleasure of designing. I love the crisp, fresh, and edgy vibe the new design gives the brand. And I love the fun details and pops of color.
I owe a big thank you to the Sweet Lemon team for letting me work with them and being so wonderful along the way! No without further ado, go check out the new site and their latest issue!
