What. A. Weekend. I flew to Dallas last Wednesday to take care of some wedding details before our engagement party on Saturday night. We got super lucky and had absolutely gorgeous weather on both Friday and Saturday before it all went south and got cold again.
Before friends and family got in town on Friday, my sister and I went to lunch at Lark on the Park — a new-to-me spot right on the edge of Klyde Warren Park which stretches over the freeway and connects Uptown to Downtown Dallas. The whole area is pretty amazing and I love that it promotes people to spend more time outside and actually explore downtown!
After lunch we cruised around the park a bit and tried to tan our legs since they hadn’t seen the sun in months. It felt so amazing to wear a dress without tights and have a reason to pull out my sunglasses. Speaking of, this dress is super super comfortable and I’m a little obsessed with the pleats on the front and the quilted stitching on the shoulders (also obsessed with the floral version!).
We had dinner with Rob’s parents and mine on Friday night at one of my favorites, Hibiscus. It was so fun to get to spend time with them and for our parents to get to know each other a little more!
Saturday, Rob and I had brunch on the patio of Dream Cafe with my sister and her boyfriend. That afternoon, the girls walked the Katy Trail and made a pit-stop at the Ice House while the guys played Top Golf. Our engagement party was that night and it was such a blast — I’ll have more on that later this week. I’m so thankful for one of my family’s dear friends who took pictures that night too! It was such a whirlwind that it’ll be nice to have those to look back at.
My Sunday got a little messed up since my afternoon flight was cancelled. I unfortunately missed the red carpet and the Oscars, but was happy to have made it back home! This week will be another short one for me, so I’m hoping to get focused and knock out a bunch of work before I head to Nashville for a friend’s wedding. Hope your week is off to a great start!
