Homemade Cashew Milk Recipe

This easy cashew milk recipe requires no straining and is made with whole ingredients.

Equipment

  • Vitamix or high-speed blender

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup of cashews, raw and unsalted
  • 3 cups filtered water
  • 1-2 dates, pitted
  • 1-2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp salt, optional

Instructions
 

  • First, you'll soak your cashews in water. Put a cup of cashews in a container and pour hot water over the top until covered. Let them sit for at least 4 hours or overnight. If you can only find roasted cashews, you can still use them, but definitely soak overnight to make sure they're plenty soft.
  • Drain the water and rinse the cashews under warm or hot water.
  • Add 3 cups of water (cold water is great), cashews, dates, vanilla and salt to your high-speed blender. Blend until everything is completely pureed and milky white. I leave it on the top speed for 2-3 minutes just to make sure.
  • Let it sit so any bubbles go down, then pour into your airtight container. These glass bottles are ideal, bt anything with a good seal will work in a pinch.
