Hi again, The Fox & She readers! I’m back with more outfit ideas for you. Springtime is packed with events, one of them being graduation. Although some of us may not be walking this year I can venture to guess that most of us will be attending some sort of graduation festivities – I’ll be attending my nephew’s preschool graduation! That being said, here is the perfect casual chic look to get you through the day. Must haves are a pretty breathable dress, comfortable sandals, a statement necklace, an easy bag, and a watch so you won’t miss any of the fun.

Congratulations to all of you who are graduating this year – what an accomplishment! Buy yourself something nice, take a vacation, relax. You deserve it.

Practice Makes Perfect

A while back ago, like in January, I decided I was going to paint my own abstract piece of art. A big one. A few months went by and I finally purchased a canvas, then a few more weeks and I acquired paint. Several weeks later I decided to get to painting and started practicing on a small canvas.

It turns out that I really enjoy painting! It’s soothing and the perfect activity after a stressful day. I finished this smaller painting — 20 by 20 inches — a few weeks ago and realized I never shared it with you guys. Though it started out looking bad, it eventually turned into this, and I really like it. It’s now hanging in my hall and is the perfect bright decor when I first walk out of my room in the morning.

Since finishing this one, I’ve started on the mega painting. I’m sort of laughing to myself, because it looks nothing like this one, but I love it equally as much, maybe even a bit more. Let’s hope that I complete that one here in the next week or so and get it hung before my new chairs arrive!

I hate red as a wall color. I don’t know how you feel about this bold hue on walls, but I despise it. On clothes, small accents, it’s great, but geez Louise, just don’t put it on my walls.

When we moved in to this apartment, several of the rooms were painted red. You can imagine my disappointment. The apartment had great bones, but some nasty nasty wall colors. The one bedroom got painted over immediately and after the living room, guest bath, dining room and a second bathroom got painted, I was just sick of painting even though the last bathroom was still red. I figured I’d deal with it later.

And later is sure right. I’ve been living here over a year now and it’s still red. Ew. But this weekend that’s all about to change. With a new roommate moving in just a few weeks, it lit the project fire yet again. I picked up several paint colors this week and I think we’re leaning towards a deep navy. The majority of the bathroom is white tile, so I think this will be just beautiful.

Oh and then there’s the topic of towels… I’m loving these and these.

Of course, going light and airy was my second thought, but for now, I think I’m going to go dark and bold. Which color palette would you go with? They’re both beautiful, aren’t they?
