I can’t believe I’m already asking this question—wasn’t winter just a few weeks ago?! Summer always sneaks up on me, but is always so welcome! This May has been a roller coaster of cold and warm weather and I’m beyond ready to pack up my puffy coat for good (yes, I wore it just a few weeks ago!) and forget all about Chicago winters for a good three to five months.
With summer just a few weeks away, do you have any exciting summer travel plans? Or summer plans in general!?

We end up spending as much time as possible in the city during the summer since it’s the best time to be in the city, but we do have a few things planned and I’m sure some last minute trips will pop up along the way. We’re planning to be in town all of June and then we’re heading to Colorado to spend a few days with my family in the mountains over the Fourth of July. We grew up going to the mountains in both the summer and the winter, but summer has always been my favorite time to visit. It’s so green, peaceful and the fresh and clean scent of pine trees is live-giving. As much as I love the city, being outside in nature is such an amazing break and leaves me feeling renewed. We don’t have any big plans yet, but I’m sure that hiking and picnics will be high on the list!

Since everyone in my family lives in different states, so it’s always really exciting when all of us get the chance to be together. Lately it’s only been happening during the holidays, so getting to see everyone at the same time again is going to be amazing!

Speaking of summer, I just picked up this cute dress from Anthropologie and I can’t wait to wear it around town! It’s comfortable and so cute! I can’t wait to wear it to Parson’s patio for fried chicken as soon as it’s warm enough!
Tell me below what your summer travel plans are, and if you don’t have anything set in stone yet, what’s on your summer bucket list?
