Basics Really Are The Best
As a self-proclaimer color lover, I always find it sort of ironic that my wardrobe really isn’t all that colorful. For the most part, it’s filled with neutrals, jeans and classic pieces, not a bunch of trendy pieces. I choose to share my love of color in other areas of my life, like the inside of our home.
Being a blogger, I find it easy to fall into the trend trap, but after that trend is gone, I wonder why I bought it. This year I’m trying to be more intentional about my purchases. Rather than scooping up the latest trend, I want to invest in pieces that I’ll wear for a long time and pieces that I can wear multiple ways. Versatile is probably the best word for my shopping attitude this year.
I pulled out a few of my most versatile pieces for this look last week and the crazy thing? I love this look more than any of my trendy looks! Maybe because it’s ‘normal’ and I can see just about anyone wearing this. Would you?
Every single piece I’m wearing here can be worn a gazillion different ways which means more outfits and less buying. Less buying means more money in our travel piggy bank, and that sounds good to me! That being said, I do have a few items I have my eye on, these shoes in particular. I know I’d wear these like crazy once it’s warm! They do fall in that neutral category, so I think I might have to get them — what do you think?!
Speaking of traveling, we’re heading to Austin this weekend for a wedding and will have some down time around the city. I haven’t been in years, so if you have any suggestions on restaurants, bars, shopping or fun activities, please share below!
