Happy Weekend

Happy Weekend! This has truly been one of the craziest weeks I’ve ever had. Last week, I packed up my entire apartment and this past Monday, I moved into Rob and I’s new place! I’m already in love with the place and can’t wait to continue decorating. With a dog park nearby, Oliver is adjusting to hi-rise city living really well too!

This weekend, I’m in Dallas for the RewardStyle conference. I’m not sure what to expect, but I am excited, and I can’t lie, a little bit nervous! But overall, I think it will be a blast. Follow along via Instagram to see what’s happening this weekend and shop my looks by signing up at LikeToKnow. It and get the info straight to your inbox!

After the weekend, I’m staying in Dallas for a little bit longer while working on a little project that I’ll get to share soon as well as taking bridal portraits! By the time I get back to Chicago next week, I’ll be ready to seriously chill out for a while, but I’m thankful that my schedule for May is looking relatively free.

These days, it’s so easy to get caught up in what everyone else around you is doing, being and becoming successful at and it’s really easy to get to that terrible place where all you do is compare yourself to that person or group of people. Then the why not me questions come pouring in? Why can’t my life be as perfect as hers? Why can’t I meet the right guy? Why can’t my business become successful like hers? Why can’t I just be happy?! These questions suck, and you shouldn’t yourself these. Everyone is different and has a different path to find the things that make them happy, but let’s face it. Sometimes it’s just not that easy to remember that.

Enter Jess Lively. Maybe you’ve read her blog or worked with her before, but if not, check her out. She’s one inspiring and spirited gal who has made it her job to help other people to create lives with intention. Last year, she helped me re-shape my business with intention and I’ve only seen my business grow since then!

It’s amazing to take one of her classes or one-on-one sessions and to feel amazing afterward, but it’s another thing to remember to live out that intention each and everyday. So to help her clients remember their intention, Jess collaborated with jewelry designer Acanthus Jewelry to create these gorgeous gold bracelets. In a beautiful hand-script, they say ‘live with intention’ and are as beautiful as they are functional.

I’ve been wearing mine ever since I got it and I have to say, it works. One quick look at it and I’m reminded of the things that are most important to me and how I can make my relationships, friendships and faith stronger, by approaching each one with that intention.

So whether you’ve worked with Jess or not, these bracelets are simple and pretty and a wonderful way to keep you on track with what you want to accomplish in any area of your life. I’m saying goodbye to those stress and anxiety-filled crazy days by reminding myself to live with intention everyday!

Feeling Blessed

Is anyone else’s Friday off to a great start?! I woke up with some good emails and headed out the door for a long lakeside walk with Oliver. My to-do list is very short, the sun is shining and I think I’m about to throw on my grubbies and do some painting. At the moment I’m feeling very lucky and blessed. Now, if we could just find an apartment we loved…

Here’s a quick look back at my week via Instagram. {one} I picked up way too many flowers at Trader Joe’s, but ranunculus were on sale, so how could I not? {two} I wore this jacket from Anthropologie while hanging out on Rob’s rooftop with Oliver. {three} Shared Taylor Lord’s story and got even more excited that she’s our wedding photographer! {four} Spent our third St. Patrick’s Day with friends! {five} I shared this gorgeous top from 1.State that I wore when I was in Nashville. {six} Oliver and I went for our first lakeside walk this morning. It was only 38 degrees, but in the sun, it felt like heaven! He ran circles in the sand and is currently passed out. {seven} Cooked homemade arugula & prosciutto pizza and laughed at Oliver’s patience. He loves cheese and was waiting for something to fall off the counter. {eight} I wore a floral skirt with a sweater in hopes that the weather would get warmer. {nine} Shared how to make perfect omelets — credit goes to Rob here.
