This past weekend it got pretty cold. Like in the 30s cold. I always know it’s coming, but I’m never mentally prepared for the first bit of Chicago’s winter. The key to staying warm here is layers! I was thrilled when one of my favorite stores back in Dallas (my home town), St. Bernard Sports reached out and asked me to style some wintery pieces. I bought my very first pair of snow boots at St. Bernard Sports before I moved to Chicago, so it was only fitting that my next pair come from them too.

One of my favorite things about these Sorel boots is that they don’t have fur poking out the top, well other than them being insanely warm and comfortable. But back to that fur. They’re still warm enough to wear all throughout the winter, but sometimes I think the fur makes them look too wintery when in fact these are also great for the rain or a hike in the woods — which I’ve been wanting to do lately.

St. Bernard Sports also sent me this gorgeous and cozy vest and I have been wearing it on repeat ever since it arrived. It’s thick, soft and so warm and is a must-have for layering. I also love the draped slouchy styling of the vest because it gives it such an effortless and cool look. Plus you can fold it over under a coat for extra warmth — that I know from experience. I continued my layering underneath with an easy care buttoned shirt, a side-zip color block sweater and bright cords. I’ve been wearing that sweater (also in blue) on repeat too — so soft!

I really can’t believe that it’s already this cold, but having stylish warm pieces is making it easier to adjust!
