Girls’ Night at Summer House

lace holiday dress

Last month, we had a girls’ dinner to celebrate Shaheen’s birthday and we had so much fun that we decided it needed to be a regular thing. We haven’t been that good about regularity, but when we make it happen, it’s so fun! So, last Tuesday I headed north to Lincoln Park for a mid-week meet-up at Summer House Santa Monica.

Before meeting up at Kelly’s house, I finished up a few quick shoots and then walked through Lincoln Park, admiring the gorgeous orange and yellow leaves and beautiful houses. I’ve said it before, but I absolutely love this neighborhood and hope that the next place we live is situated somewhere in this cute hood. Thankfully the weather was perfect, so the walk was extra enjoyable!

We had a glass of wine at Kelly’s and played with cute little Emma and Noodle before heading to dinner. I wore this outfit that I just picked up at Ann Taylor (did you shop the sale this weekend?! hope so!). I’m obsessed with this dress and the stunning lace. I paired it with this bright and cheery coat and these boots for a mod look—the bangs definitely add to the mod vibe, don’t you think?!

The dress is going to be perfect for Thanksgiving and upcoming holiday parties that we have on our calendar. I’ve already worn this coat and these boots several times already! I love the pop of color that the coat adds to any outfit, and the boots are surprisingly comfortable for heeled booties!

We barely made our reservation because Emma’s sweet little laugh was distracting us! If you haven’t tried out Summer House, it’s a must! I love the California summer vibes and fresh menu. We started with the burrata and then Jess and I split the turkey burger—yum!

We lingered for a while after we were done and just enjoyed not having anything else to do! We also promised to make this a more regular thing, whether we make it happen or not is another question, ha!

Do you have designated girls’ dinners with your friends? What holiday dresses have you had your eye on?

BTW, an unexpected way to wear a moto jacket, and why I closed my design business.
