An Unexpected Twist on the Moto Jacket

chicago fashion blogger

This week has been quite the rollercoaster when it comes to the weather. Monday was sunny and warm and by Thursday, it was cold and grey—oh Chicago! You’re so unpredictable! While I’ll miss Mondays sunshine and warmth, I have to admit that I’m actually looking forward to this bit of fall weather. We’ve sorta been robbed of it this October.

Plus, I haven’t really been able to pull out and actually wear a lot of my favorite new fall pieces. One of those being this moto jacket. When you think of moto jackets, what comes to mind? Leather? Faux-leather? Suede?

Any of those, sure! But wool?

It’s definitely not the most traditional moto jacket, but I love the unexpected twist that Ann Taylor put on this one which is HALF OFF right now when you use code OCTOBER50. If leather or suede feels too edgy for your style, this it he perfect alternative! It’s got the edgy cut of a moto jacket paired with the coziness of a wool coat—it’s the best of both worlds. If green isn’t your color, it also comes in a gorgeous dark heathered grey and navy.

Another something to note about this jacket is that the arms are long! I have long arms and usually find that jackets hit me at that really awkward spot that’s two to three inches above my wrist, but not this one! I immediately called my mom to tell her because she also struggles with the long arm situation.

I’ve been pairing my wool moto jacket with everything from a simple white shirt, ripped jeans and velvet sneakers (also come in blue and black) like I did here, to pairing it with booties and this floral dress (currently half off with code OCTOBER50), which I wore to my sister’s bridesmaid luncheon and failed to document. Now that it’s cooler, I’m planning on wearing it with a cashmere sweater, black jeans and a cute pair of flats.

Rob is heading out for a guy’s weekend in Denver this weekend and doesn’t come home until Tuesday, so I have an empty weekend ahead of me, and I’m so excited. Obviously, I love Rob more than anything on earth, but I also love alone time. Plus, I really need to get caught up, so I plan on relaxing and getting stuff done! Oh, and taking Oliver on a long walk up to Lincoln Park! What’s are you doing this weekend?

P.S. I have a surprise Saturday post going up tomorrow so be sure to pop by because it includes some MEGA savings on some of my favorite fall pieces!

BTW, saving for something special, and our eclectic and colorful dining room.
