I’d heard so many good things about Thrive Market for a long time, and finally decided to try them out! I’m so glad I did! Not only has the delivery been amazing these past few months, but the savings are unbeatable.
For the most part, we shop at Whole Foods. I know, it’s expensive, but I love it. I can get everything I need in one trip (which never happens if I go to Trader Joe’s), and the quality of produce, meat and seafood is always the best!
But, there’s no doubt that some items are really overpriced. I knew that Thrive Market had similar principles and standards, so I decided to see if it made a difference shopping for some of our favorite pantry staples online instead of in-store.
My Honest Thrive Market Review
What is Thrive Market?
If you’ve never heard about Thrive Market, to me, it’s sort of like Whole Foods, but just online! I can find almost all of the same brands we love from Whole Foods on Thrive, and they’re cheaper!
Thrive Market has pantry staples, but also meat and seafood, wine, dog food, vitamins and supplements, beauty products and baby stuff. Basically everything! And, it’s all non-toxic, eco-friendly and fairly priced.
How Much Does it Cost?
To get the perks, you do have to join as a member, but within 2 orders, my yearly membership has paid for itself and more.
To join as a member, it’s $59.95 a year, which comes down to about $5/month. They take you through a few questions to get a better idea of what and who you’re shopping for so they can share the things that you will probably want!
Does it Really Save you Money?
This was my biggest question. Was it really going to save enough money to be worth it? I asked my friend Nora who had been using it for a while and she sent me a screenshot of our savings to date and I immediately joined.
So, bottom line, YES. It’s actually made a huge difference!
I love that each product has the percent of money you’re saving by purchasing from Thrive Market. I couldn’t believe how much extra I was paying for things like our favorite marinara sauce and gluten-free pasta when I was buying it at Whole Foods.
Within just two Thrive Market orders (and not very big orders—8 & 9 items— I should mention), I had saved $72.68. Also, I love that they track your savings over time so you can keep tabs on how much you’re saving each month and year.
Needless to say, Thrive Market will continue to be my go-to spot for all of our pantry essentials—things like rice, pasta, marinara, seeds and nuts, flour, and so much more! It’s just too easy, especially when you have little kids or work a lot and just don’t have time to run to the store multiple times a week.
Our Thrive Market Must Haves
Like I mentioned, there are SO many amazing brands and products, but I wanted to share our must-haves, things I find myself adding to my cart every order.
Rao’s Marinara Sauce
We use a lot of marinara in our house—it’s one of Owen’s favorites! We’ve also tried quite a few and I always come back to Rao’s. The flavor is the absolute best, but it’s $10.99 a jar at Whole Foods and only $7.49 on Thrive Market.
Jovial Pasta
The BEST gluten-free pasta. Rob doesn’t care about the GF part, but he doesn’t even notice a difference with this one. The texture is the same and it doesn’t get sticky like a lot of other brown rice pastas. The savings are about 30% on pasta.
Lundberg Rice
I love this rice brand and savings are typically around 28-34% off on Thrive Market. Love saving on good pantry staples.
Seeds & Nuts
We go through a ton of chia and flaxseeds in our morning smoothies. It’s much cheaper to buy them here. First off, why are chia seeds sometimes $12?! It’s wild. I get them here for around $6/bag and flaxseed for about $4.
Flour
Flour is pretty cheap everywhere, but it’s heavy! When I’ve got Owen with me and have to climb up the stairs to our 3rd floor apartment it was such a pain!
Nut Butters
Nut butter can get pricey too, so love stocking up on this because we go through our fair share of peanut and almond butter between smoothies, waffles and sandwiches.
Dried Mango
Owen’s FAVORITE snack! Of course our child has expensive taste. It’s a quick, easy snack, just make sure to get the ones with no sugar added. I always grab a couple of bags.
Oils
Coconut oil, olive oil, avocado oil, and more. You’re going to buy them (unless you don’t use oil!), why not save? They’re about 24-34% cheaper on Thrive Market.
