I’m on a Boat
I mentioned it at the end of last week, but in case you missed it, last Tuesday I went to the Chicago Elite yacht christening. It was a beautiful night, but we were also hit with several sporadic showers (a big thanks to Kelly for snapping these while it drizzled).
One of the things that I love most about Chicago is that it’s located right on the lake. It gives the city a whole different feeling and also gives us lots to do in the summertime. Last Memorial Day weekend (in 2014), we took a sailboat out on Lake Michigan for the afternoon and it was heaven. HEAVEN, people. Being outside in the sunshine surrounded by water is so peaceful and relaxing and the perfect way to escape city life. The yacht party was a good reminder that I need to make it a point to go on more boating trips this summer.
I have to admit I was probably a little underdressed for the yacht party, but I loved my outfit and can’t wait to wear it again. I wore this embroidered Tillie Shirtdress that I picked up at Anthropologie last week, these woven heels from Nordstrom that I’m in love with, and paired them with a few of my favorite accessories. This fringed bucket bag (similar here) is several years old, but I adore it and continue to carry it summer after summer — I love pieces like this! The frog bracelet is from J.Crew and is also a few years old, but the colors in it are amazing!
I had a blast in Mexico weekend (more on that soon), but I’m excited to be home for a week and a half before heading to London! I have a lot of exciting stuff planned for the blog this week, so be sure to stop by again!
