Sorry for the late post today, but after our road trip yesterday, I was beyond exhausted — let me explain. We left at about 5:25am and before we ever left Texas, we were hit with a bunch of unexpected snow. The weather got slightly better throughout the day, but the whole trip was pretty much on and off snow, rain and mist. There had also been so much rain that parts of the highway were flooded and resulted in time-consuming detours. We spotted two over-turned 18-wheelers along the way too. Overall, it was a long, stressful and exhausting day for driving.
We got home around 11, ordered a pizza, took a shower, passed out and stayed asleep for the next 11 hours — it felt amazing! Now that we’re home, I’m spending this week cleaning the house, catching up on emails and just relaxing before reality really hits next week.
Speaking of that, is anyone else a little bit in shock that 2015 is ending in just a few days? This year has been one of growth and learning and I truly can’t wait to see what 2016 holds for us. I’ve been scribbling down goals and intentions for the new year that I’ll share soon, how about you?
During our drive home I thought about some of my favorite pieces that I purchased this year and this trench vest might top the list. I’ve worn it so many different ways (see them here, here, here, here) and I know that this staple will continue to get a ton of use into spring & summer. Do you have any pieces that you’re just obsessed with like me?!
Now that we’re back in town, the blog is back to its regular timing and I’ve got some great stuff planned for the new year! Can’t wait to share it with you!
