Seriously Cute Furniture & Decor for Babies & Kids

Seriously Cute Furniture & Decor for Babies & Kids: west elm x pottery barn kids collection

One of my favorite moments of being pregnant was getting to design and decorate Owen’s nursery. I love to decorate and make updates to our home all the time. However it’s not very often that I get to do an entire room! I can’t tell you how many countless hours I spent on Pinterest searching for cute nurseries that fit the look I was going for.

I wanted something that was somewhat gender neutral. Also, I want it to fit the style of the rest of our home, which doesn’t fit into any specific style. So I just call it eclectic. It’s a touch mid-century, a touch boho, and 100% a reflection of us. It’s casual, bright, inviting and definitely not stuffy! I wanted Owen’s room to be an extension of our home, not just a random room that didn’t feel like the rest of our place.

Our home is made up with pieces that we’ve found all over, but one of my favorite places to find cute furniture and decor is West Elm. I’m extra excited because they just launched an amazing new collection of adorable kids’ furniture and decor with Pottery Barn Kids that fits our style perfectly!

I’m only bummed that it didn’t launch this time last year. It would have made the process of hunting down unique pieces so much easier. Don’t tell Rob, but after browsing the site, I’m already dreaming up baby number two’s future room. Not that we’re ready for that just yet, haha, Owen is keeping us plenty busy for the moment!

But, I’m happy to have that resource for the future! In the meantime, any of you expecting mamas should definitely check it out! So many baby things are a little too fancy or kid-ish for my taste. Honestly, literally every piece in this collection is so cute. The furniture is beautifully made, simple, but with unique shapes. The bedding is thoughtful and sweet and the decor, gifts, art and rugs are so fun!

If I was redoing Owen’s room, this is what it would look like! These are some of my favorite pieces from the collection—though technically he’ll have no use for this mini desk anytime soon, I still think it’s precious! I love starting with a bold rug, like this one, as a colorful statement piece. That’s how I ended up designing every room in our house! What can I say, I’m obsessed with rugs. Once I’ve got that piece selected, I go from there. The furniture from the West Elm x Pottery Barn Kids Collection is all pretty neutral and works well together, so it makes putting the whole room together really easy!

All the pieces are designed to be GREENGUARD Gold Certified which means their crafted to be safer for a healthier home. Now that I know how often babies put things in their mouths, knowing that whatever they’re chewing on is safe gives me peace of mind!

Another perk, other than being super cute, is that their cribs can be converted into toddler beds. That means you get more use out of them, which is a big sell in my opinion.

A few other things we love? This honeycomb quilt for starters. Sure, you’ll end up with a ton of blankets (I LOVE the colors in this one), but a quilt is a little thicker and is great for laying out in the living room for Owen to play on! We do this every day. When I’m done, I just roll it up with the toys in the middle and stick it in a basket! Side note, baskets have become my new best friend—they’re perfect for books, toys, blankets and all kinds of kid stuff and look so cute! This rosette one is so pretty and perfect for a baby girl.

Someday, when we have a play room, I love this storage ottoman—it looks nice and is functional! You could totally use it as a coffee table too since the top is wood! Plus, the sides are soft, so it makes it safer for kiddos.

They also have kid’s furniture, and I love this bed and I’m wondering if it comes in an adult version! It’s hard to believe Owen will be big enough to sleep in a real bed one day. Honestly I know it’ll be here before I know it.

Even if you don’t have kids, the new collection is a great place to pick up adorable gifts for any of your pregnant friends. They have adorable stuffed animals, which Owen suddenly thinks are the funniest thing ever, and sweet baby blankets!

Have you checked out the new collection? Do you have design envy for your kid’s rooms too?!
