This past weekend we celebrated my sweet friend Meg, who is pregnant with her second boy! I still cannot believe how many of my friends have all boys, it’s wild. My family keeps joking that there’s something in the water because between my sister, sister-in-law and me, we have only boys too.
It’s been a while since I’ve been to a baby shower, or any kind of shower for that matter, so I was so excited for the opportunity to get dressed up, see friends, and of course shower Meg with goodies for their baby.
What to Wear to a Baby Shower
I know many of you are also in the same phase of life right now! Either having babies yourself, or you’ve got friends having babies, so I thought it’d be fun to round up some cute options for baby shower dress ideas, as well as some ideas for any soon-to-be moms at their own shower.
What I love about these is that they can all easily be worn again for other events like wedding or bridal showers, or even a casual engagement party. Depending on how nice the event is, I like to just swap shoes and accessories accordingly.
As you guys know, I love when a piece does double duty. If I can wear it casually and dress it up, it’s a yes in my book! This yellow dress is one of my favorites this summer. I have been loving ruffled details on everything. Seriously, check this post and this post for more ruffle inspiration). It adds such a sweet, feminine touch!
Baby Shower Guest Ideas
For more casual wear, I love wearing this dress un-belted with flat sandals. It’s so comfortable and the fabric moves so beautifully—effortlessly chic and only one piece, my favorite.
Dress Ideas for Moms to Be
My friend Meg wore this dress which is not maternity,. However, it looked SO cute with a bump, and best of all, you can wear it after baby comes too! If you’re a soon-to-be-mom and don’t want a true maternity dress, look for dresses that have open waists that you can later belt, or even belt over your bump.
Do you have friends having babies? Maybe you’re having a baby? I’m so excited for parties and events to pick up again. It’s been such a nice change of pace and so wonderful to see people in person!
