I walked in the door, dropped my bags and immediately plopped down on the couch and closed my eyes. Oliver scratched at my shoes, trying to convince me to toss the ball for him. I was completely exhausted, but also felt completely fulfilled and simply content.

Despite the exhaustion, days like this are seriously the best. They’re the ones that remind me why I work hard, and why I love what I do. Everyday is a little bit different and that’s one aspect of my job that I really love. One day it’s photo shoots and writing and the next day it’s strategizing our next move for Blogging for Keeps! Busy days like this always get my creative wheels turning, which is both good and bad. Good because, duh, having your head exploding with new ideas is amazing, but bad because I never know what to tackle first!

This past month has been filled with days like this. While I’ve been loving these days, I do feel like I’ve been slacking a bit in other parts of my life, but I’m trying to remind myself that life comes in seasons, and some are simply busier than others!

When I have a busy day on my schedule, I always try to go to bed early the night before and plan ahead as much as possible beforehand so I actually get out the door on time. Sometimes that even means picking out my outfit ahead of time. I know, I sound like a kid picking out my outfit for the first day of school, but anything that can make my morning run smoother and help get me out the door feeling confident and energetic is a plus! Comfort is usually top the list when I know I’m going to be sitting in front of my desk all day, so jeans is usually what I go for.

Last week, I wore skinny jeans paired with this semi-sheer top that I just picked up from Ann Taylor (also bought these slides and I’m obsessed!). The neckline is what sold me on this top, it also comes in a pretty pink color! It was chilly so I threw on this military jacket and these oxfords that I’ve been wearing constantly! They’re super comfortable and match with pretty much everything—even summer dresses!

This week looks like it will be another busy one, but I’m excited that I did check off some major tasks last week! Let’s hope this week is just as productive. What’s do you like to wear when you know you have a busy day? Have you had an extra busy schedule lately too?

BTW, why you should never stop learning, and how to add personality to your work wardrobe.
