Perfect Peachy Ruffles + Feeling Confident
One piece of clothing I always feel confident in is skinny jeans. When they first came in style, I was bit wary. I was still in high school and loving my low slung bell bottoms and couldn’t imagine that they would ever go out of style. But skinny jeans? Those were weird.
I eventually tried them, but it wasn’t until I studied abroad in Madrid that they become my go-to fit. I picked up a pair at Zara for about $45 and wore them for years until they finally became so threadbare, they ripped.
I was devastated.
As much as I love jeans, sometimes I have a hard time deciding what to pair with them. I’ll find myself standing half-dressed in my closet staring at the rack of shirts feeling defeated. It’s not that I don’t have tops; I just don’t like how a lot of them look with jeans. If a top is too tight or too short, I don’t feel like my outfit looks balanced.
So, what to wear with jeans?
Personally, I prefer pairing skinny jeans with tops that have more volume, structure or interesting detail—like this off-the-shoulder top from Kristinit. You might have noticed my obsession for off-the-shoulder tops and dresses this summer, but they’re just so dang cute and make an outfit look a little dressier and flirty. I love the ruffle details, cinched sleeves and the fabric pattern of this Evangeline top. It also comes in a striped and patterned version.
