The Dress I’ll Be Living In All Fall

You know those pieces that make you feel amazing when you slip them on? The kind of piece that instantly gives you a boost of confidence and puts a smile on your face? I think we all have a few of them, but they’re hard to come by! When you get your hands on one, you don’t keep quiet about it.

So, consider yourself notified. This dress is one of those pieces.

I actually hesitated for a moment when I saw it hanging shapelessly on the hanger in Ann Taylor. Hangers have a funny way of making some clothes look a lot less flattering, don’t they?! At the last second, I decided to try it on because I’ve been obsessed with this oxblood color (see this post, this post and this post), so why not.

Gals, I’m so glad that I did. It fits like a dream. Not to mention the gorgeous lace detail, the length, adorable sleeves and of course, the color. For those reasons, I can already tell you with confidence that this piece will be on heavy rotation this fall and winter. Pair it with heels and a clutch like I did for a date or a wedding, or with a blazer and loafers or booties for more casual look that’d be ideal for the office!

Another use for this dress? Fall weddings! In just two weeks, we’ll be heading to Atlanta to celebrate my sister’s wedding. I’m so happy for her and her fiancé, and excited to see my immediate and extended family! I’ll be wearing this dress, and probably these shoes, to her rehearsal dinner (p.s. I’ll be sharing my tips on how to write a MOH speech soon!). I think the dress will be perfect for early October! I’ll be wearing a bridesmaid dress to the actual wedding, but if you’re not in the wedding, this dress would be perfect for a wedding guest!

I rest my case, this dress is insanely versatile and needs to be in your closet! But, if dresses aren’t your thing, you should know that Ann Taylor has a beautiful pencil skirt made from the same gorgeous lace as this dress. At the last moment, I decided I needed it too, oops! It was too pretty not to!
