A Place to Dine

My next major DIY project is going to be a new dining room table. Right now I have the dining room table I bought in college from Pier 1 and it’s been great. It’s also seen better days. Too many college art projects happened on there and then Oliver really attacked those legs… but either way, it’s served its purpose and I’m ready for something new and a little more unique.

I’ve been talking about this project for way too long and I think it’s finally going to happen this spring. The idea I keep coming back to? A herringbone topped table! I’ve been seeing it pop everywhere from doors, ceilings to floors and I’m in love.

I’m not 100% sure how I’m going to tackle this, but thankfully my dad is quite the handyman so I’m not too worried! The next question will be where will I build this beauty? And what color to stain it — dark or light?
