Not too long ago, Owen started putting everything in his mouth. I mean, EVERYTHING. His fingers, my fingers, toys, blankets, burp clothes. Pretty much anything he can get those tiny hands on, he puts into his mouth. This means pretty much everything in our home is coated in baby spit, but spit aside, it’s made me think a lot more about what his toys are made of.
If he’s going to be putting them in his mouth and chewing on them, I want to make sure they’re safe. Thankfully, so many brands are becoming aware of the toxic ingredients in plastics and paints and are getting rid of them. And, even more brands are popping up that only make non-toxic and organic products for baby that are also absolutely adorable!
I’ve really been trying to hold off on buying too many toys for Owen until after our move, but when we do, I’m looking forward to getting him some of these cute little pieces! I love all the cute wooden things and don’t mind those laying around the house because they’re actually pretty.
It’s been so much fun watching him grow and change each week. Seeing the look on his face when he discovers something new is amazing! It’s a mix of looking perplexed, confused and eventually excited once he figures it out. It’s also crazy how quickly they change, isn’t it?! Rob and I are always looking at each other and thinking, he was such a blob 3 months ago! Haha!
When Owen’s a little bigger and more mobile, I would love to get him a tent like this! My sisters and I built countless blanket forts in our younger years and we would have gone nuts over something like this pretty tent! We’ll need a place with more space, so fingers crossed we find a good one!
What kinds of toys do you buy for your little one? Any favorites we need to have?!
