My Favorite Mexican Restaurant You Need to Try
West Loop is one of my favorite neighborhoods in Chicago because of all the yummy restaurants. It’s well-known that this neighborhood, Randolph Street in particular, is chock-full of delicious and inventive restaurants and cool bars. So, whether you live in Chicago or are just visiting for a weekend you should stop by! It’s one of our all-time favorite areas to go out for dinner and drinks. My only complaint is that we don’t live a bit closer!
I have lots of favorite restaurants over there, but one that seems to go a bit unnoticed (well, at least compared to some of the other spots over there) is Hello Tacos! De Cero. It’s right next to Little Goat and typically doesn’t have nearly as long of a wait. Which always surprises me because it’s absolutely delicious. But I’m not complaining! I’d prefer if this tasty spot continues to fly a little below the radar, because that means less wait time for that amazing salsa verde and guacamole!
Being a Texan, I LOVE Mexican food! And, while Chicago has lots of taco joints, there’s very many good Mexican restaurants in my opinion. But Hello Tacos! De Cero reminds me of some of my favorite Tex-Mex places at home. P.S. Some of my favorite spots in Dallas include Mi Cocina and Taco Diner.
Just a few weeks ago, we stopped by here for lunch after shooting, you guessed it, this cozy look. It was the perfect temperature for sitting outside. After a busy morning, a long slow lunch of chips and guacamole, tacos (try the al pastor, grilled mahi mahi and skirt steak) and a cold Mexican beer felt well-deserved. We didn’t have any margs this time, but their margaritas are amazing. If you like spicy, try the spicy pineapple jalapeño!
Now that fall is in full swing, I’ve been reaching for outfits like this one, a cozy camel sweater paired with jeans and leopard flats. It’s perfect for long work days. I love pairing basic outfits with stand-out bags, like this one, and statement shoes to make it look a little fancier.
Have you visited Chicago or do you live here? What restaurants are your favorite? Which do I need to try?!
