Ellington Rug | Linen Quilt | Marble Lamps | Tassel Pillows | Lumbar Pillow | Feather Juju Hat
One of my favorite things to shop for in our house? Rugs. For whatever reason, I absolutely love them. They’re the single thing that can pull a room together, give it a totally new and fresh vibe, and keep your home feeling and looking cozy.
Our rugs are also the number one home decor item I get asked about, so having them all in one place should be helpful!!
Over the years we’ve had some pretty awesome ones! I can’t wait to bring them into our new house and probably find some more too! Scroll down and I’m also sharing my favorite sources for rugs too.
Living Room
I bought this rug from Wayfair when I decided to make this space more neutral—we had a brightly colored woven rug in there before. While I loved it, I was just ready for something a little more grown up and toned down. I love how this whole room turned out (details in this post)—it’s so calm and when it’s totally clean, which is rare, is so peaceful!
This rug was only $167 for a 9’x12′! Crazy, right? But, I loved the idea of going with something affordable for this space since we hang out in here the most. It’s easy to clean because it has a low pile and if Owen drops some red juice on it, well, it’s not like it was $1200!
Despite being pretty cheap, it’s held up extremely well and because of the light pattern on it, it actually hides dirt and crumbs well, and is super easy to keep clean with a vacuum.
Master Bedroom
The most recent addition! I can’t wait to really get this room exactly how I envisioned it once we move and buy a place. Again, I’ve been gravitating more towards neutrals and layering textures and similar colors. It feels cozy and homey to me and I think we’ve got a good start here.
I got this hand-tufted rug from McGee & Co and I adore it! I actually laid out two different master bedroom designs and still love both—see this post for the other one. But, ultimately, I’m glad I went with this one since it’s lighter in color. I love moody too, but at the end of the day, I think I’ll always be drawn to lighter and brighter interiors.
Owen’s Bedroom
We got this sweet rug from Caitlin Wilson for Owen’s nursery. It was perfect for his first nursery because it was such a small room. It was a little too small for his current room, so we eventually moved the rug below into his room to fit better. I’m thinking it might be perfect in an entryway or office in a future home.
The rug above is the one I get asked about more than anything! It was a purchase from our trip to Istanbul, Turkey several years ago. Sorry, can’t give you a better source for that one.
Dining Room
Dining room details all linked in this post!
This is a throwback, but love this one too! It’s an oldie from Lulu & Georgia. I loved this dining room in our second apartment together after we got married.
Best Place to Buy Area Rugs
Lulu & Georgia
No doubt, one of my favorite places to shop for rugs, and home decor is Lulu & Georgia! They have such a cool, California-vibe that’s effortless, comfortable. This will definitely be a place I browse when we buy a house.
Wayfair
If you’re looking for rugs that are affordable, Wayfair is one of my favorite spots to look! Our living room rug is from here and I love it. Is it the nicest? No, but it’s looks great, has held up so well, and if it does get destroyed by a spill from Owen or the dog, I’m not going to be crushed.
Wayfair has so many great ones and this is where I plan to get rugs for our boys’ rooms for the foreseeable future. I actually have my eye on this one for Owens big boy room!
McGee & Co
If you’re looking for a grown up rug, I highly recommend McGee & Co. If you’re not already following them on Instagram, do yourself a favor and do it! They do the coolest projects.
We got our latest bedroom rug is from here and while it was investment, I absolutely love it. It completes the room and I know it’s a piece we’ll have for a really long time.
Amazon
I’ve come to love the brand Loloi over the years and guess who carries it? Amazon! There are some seriously gorgeous designs that look vintage, but are a fraction of the cost. I’m sure we’ll own one of these sometime soon.
World Market
Another spot to find great affordable rugs. We don’t have any in our house now, but we did have several from World Market a while back. They’re a great value for the money and have some really cool rugs.
West Elm
We had this souk rug in our first apartment together! Admittedly this one was not great with a dog—it collected a lot of dog hair, but it was so pretty and soft under your feet. West Elm has some unique designs and pretty decent prices.
Kaya Kilims
I’ve never purchased from here before, but they have gorgeous rugs! If you’re looking for a unique, colorful kilim rug, definitely check this shop out.
BTW, our guest bath refresh for under $125, and our living room reveal.
