Headboard Inspiration

After having these vintage chairs recovered, I was left with a good amount of this dark grey velvet fabric. Either I over-ordered or the upholsterers did, but I’m not complaining, because I have just the right amount to upholster my very own headboard.

I’ve been wanting to do this for quite some time, but life gets in the way, and not having a car makes gathering large wood pieces a tad more difficult. I’ve looked at so many different styles and wow, there are some really gorgeous ones out there. These barely scrape the surface! Since this will be my first time upholstering, I’m going to stick to a pretty basic shape, rectangle and pass on the tufting.

This weekend I’m hoping to successfully tackle this project. I’m already looking forward to sitting in my bed with a cup of coffee and Olive cuddled up with me this winter! Wish me luck!

When I Can Sew Better…

…I want to make cool things like these. But I think that will require a few more sewing classes. And a good fabric source (any suggestions??) A girl can dream though, right? I’ve included the links to the patterns on some of them for those who already have stellar sewing skills.

It’s Friday and I’m headed to Lolla in a few short hours! This will be my first real music festival experience ever and I don’t really know what to expect. Exhaustion by Sunday night for sure. I’m throwing on my best festival gear and getting excited for a fun-filled weekend with friends. Cross your fingers it doesn’t rain tonight!
