My Adopted Home Team
Since I’ve now lived in Chicago for a little over three years, I decided it was time for me to officially adopt the Chicago Cubs as my home team. I might not be the biggest baseball fan, but how can you not love the Cubs? The team and ballpark are so iconic and did you guys know the Chicago Cubs opening day is this Sunday the 5th?! To me, the opening day of baseball means that spring and summer have officially arrived and I’ll be crossing my fingers for sunshine and warm weather for everyone heading out to the ballpark this weekend!
Like I mentioned, I’m not the biggest sports buff, but my husband Rob adores sports. Because of that, I end up going to more sporting events than I ever imagined. Right before a game, I always have the same problem — what am I going to wear?! So instead of trying to scrounge up the best red, white and blue outfit I could find for a Cubs game, I decided to pick up some gear from Fanatics that was not only cute, but more spirited than my makeshift outfit. Fanatics has a huge selection of gear for women in more feminine cuts that are simply adorable. It makes sense that the selection is so big — Fanatics is the largest retailer of officially licensed sports gear and the shopping experience is easy and painless.
I ordered this two-toned Cubs t-shirt with my favorite version of their logo. It was a tough call though, I really love this shirt too! I ordered a size up for a slouchy look that goes perfectly with a pair of boyfriend jeans or cut-off shorts. I also went ahead and picked up a Cubs hat to avoid getting burned cheeks during the long hours in the sun. Everything shipped out the next day and arrived so fast!
Even though I maybe clueless to the intricacies of baseball, I love going to games for the social aspect. An afternoon with friends at Wrigley Field is one of the most perfect summer activities in Chicago. Best of all? I finally look like a real Chicagoan!
