One trend I’ve been wanting to try out is the crop top, but I hesitated for a while because frankly, it makes me feel like I’m in high school again. But nevertheless, I finally stumbled on a cropped crocheted top that felt right. It’s not quite as cropped as others and has a nice loose bohemian fit that goes great over a bandeau. I’m already dreaming of wearing it over a bikini with cut-off denim shorts, but I think I still have a good month before I can try that.
Since we were in California, I decided that’d be a good place to test it out. It seemed more appropriate there than it does in 50 degree weather here. I paired it with skinny jeans and short booties and my Warby Parker sunglasses that I’m completely in love with. When it got cooler that night, I threw on a black blazer, which took this outfit from casual to chic bohemian!
I’ll admit, I’m not usually someone to jump on trendy things like crop tops, but I’m glad I did. I won’t be wearing it everyday, but it’s a fun summer piece that makes me feel like a beach wandering surf babe. Even though I can’t surf at all. So, my question to you — would you wear the crop top trend and what do you think of it?
P.S. On a totally different note, Anthropologie is having a HUGE dinnerware sale right now! There are so many awesome goodies to pick from and I’m so tempted to buy all of this glassware — especially the pint glass (it’s so cool!). They’d be perfect all summer long!
