Girl About Town
My Monday nights typically include yoga pants, homemade dinner and lounging on the couch, but last week I happily traded that in for drinks and dinner for our friend Arleigh’s birthday. I was already on a high from launching new paintings, a new blog design and the pre-fab designs, and a tasty dinner and cupcakes only made Monday better. Since my weeks usually start with catching up on work and cleaning the house, it was fun to have a reason to get dressed up and hit the town. I wore this new floral scuba midi skirt that I recently got from ASOS and black crop top (similar here) from Nordstrom and strolled over to dinner at Sable.
Sable, like many awesome restaurants downtown, is only a few blocks from our place. We’ve been taking advantage of the short distances and warm weather and have been walking to dinner when we go out. Maybe it sounds a little cheesy, but getting dressed up and walking through downtown Chicago makes me feel like such a city girl and I love it!
We dined on tasty dishes and craft cocktails (prosecco for me) and finished the night with sweets to celebrate a sweet friend! This birthday dinner was a little bittersweet for me because Arleigh is moving back to Texas at the end of the month. We’ve grown closer as friends, lived together for a year and she’ll be in my wedding this summer, so I’ll be really sad to see her move, but I’m also excited for her next adventure!
