How to Take your Outfit from the Gym to Lunch
One of my favorite weekday plans is lunch with girlfriends. It doesn’t happen every week, but when it does, it feels like such a treat, and always such a good break from the everyday hustle and bustle of life.
Often times I’m coming from the gym or Pure Barre, so having an outfit that can easily transition from the gym to lunch is a huge plus. Let’s be real, I’m sorta lazy and don’t like having to shower, do my hair and makeup all over again, so if I can just make a couple of swaps to my gym outfit, then I’m a happy girl.
Everlane just launched these leggings, and guys, they are SO GOOD. A few months ago, I was actually thinking, “man, I wish Everlane had activewear,” so I couldn’t believe when they reached out and announced their latest launch!
Admittedly, I’m always a little hesitant to try a new pair of leggings because I know what I like, and I’m thrilled to report that these are now in regular rotation in my closet—for both the gym and just wearing around the house—preggo life.
They’re super smooth on your skin, breathable, stretchy (and they hold their stretch), and high-waisted. High-waisted leggings are the best in my opinion. Here I’m wearing the XS and they fit great, however, I will probably snag another pair in a small in a few months since my bump is only going to get bigger.
Oh, and they are NOT see through. I did a some squats bends in the mirror just to double check!
Gym to Lunch Style
For the gym, this outfit is ideal for me! Black leggings, a simple tank and a cozy jacket to stay warm on my walk to and from the car. This top is so soft and a great length if you’re not pregnant or if your bump is still small like mine.
For lunch, I simply swapped out my top, and if you’re always chilly like me, just pop this black shirt over the grey one. I then layered my favorite oversized blazer over it (see 4 more ways to style this blazer here) and swapped my shoes for these day glove flats.
I’m usually not a big fan of ballet-style flats, but the day gloves come up higher on your foot and really mold to your foot, so they’re insanely comfortable and don’t rub. I wore them around all day the first day they showed up and never got any blisters or raw spots. I pulled out this adorable little mini bag that’s holds exactly what I need, my wallet, keys, phone and a tube of lipstick!
Well, I hope that’s proof that you can easily go from the gym to lunch and look cute with just a few swaps! If you have a sweatier workout, bring some wipes or do a quick rinse in the shower and refresh with some dry shampoo and deodorant!
