Girls’ Night at Hugo’s Frog Bar
It was only Wednesday, but thanks to Shaheen, I found myself sipping champagne and snacking on an incredible seafood tower that had just arrived. Does anyone else love crab claws?!
Our two tiny tables were pushed together and the six of us huddled underneath the awning as the rain drizzled lightly above us. While the chit chat and laughter swarmed around me, I took a moment and looked around. I felt immensely lucky. How did I manage to find all these amazing girls in such a big city? Friends like these were like finding a needle in a haystack.
Well actually, I do know how I found them. Blogging was the common thread. We’d all met at blogging events in prior years, but had become friends outside of our hobbies since then. It’d been wayyyy too long since we’d gotten together and I was so excited when Shaheen set up a mid-week happy hour at Hugo’s Frog Bar in the Gold Coast.
On our walk over, we snapped these pictures in a cute little park. This fun stripe or colorblock—whatever you want to call it—slip dress just arrived and I finally had the excuse to wear it. I love that the bold print on this colorblock dress makes it a complete outfit in one piece. To complete the look, I paired it with one of my favorite black bags—this woven one from Welden (more of their woven bags below!) and a pair of lace up sandals that have been my go-to all summer long.
Our happy hour, turned into hours, and why not? The rain eventually cleared and it felt perfect. Plus, the atmosphere of the Gold Coast makes you want to linger for a long time. With summer winding down, I was quickly reminded to make the most of nights like this because we won’t be able to sit on the patio all night for much longer!
P.S. If you didn’t make it to the Ann Taylor event a few weeks ago, we missed you! It was so fun getting to meet readers and do a little shopping. Here’s a few pictures from the night, sorry about the quality, they were shot on my iPhone!
