If there’s one thing that keeps me sane every day, it’s an organized desk and office space. Lately things have been especially nuts and sitting down to a tidy desk keeps my stress at bay. I also truly believe that if your work space is inspiring, you’re more likely to be creative and productive. Well, it works for me at least!
I’d been in a bit of a creative rut, so I decided my office area needed a bit of a refresh! Did you know that Cynthia Rowley has a line of super beautiful office products?! Her style and eye for design carry over nicely from clothing to office supplies.
First I ditched an old aluminum can that I was using as a pencil holder for this beautiful dark floral one. I love the moody colors, especially for this time of year! I also snagged this notebook (coming to Quill.com soon!) a pencil bag that’s perfect for when I work from a coffee shop and this adorable gold stapler that looks cute even when I’m not using it to staple proposals together.
I also picked up some filing folders. My old manila ones were not only beat up, but also kind of blah. I’m hoping that these gold splattered ones will encourage me to do my taxes on time — fingers crossed.
Lastly I stocked up on copy paper that came in this gorgeous reusable carton. Typically paper cartons are something I’d throw in the trash, but this one not only looks nice sitting out, it also serves as a storage box for paper, notebooks, paint, ribbon and random knick-knacks that don’t fit on my desk. On a weekly basis, it’s served as the spot that holds the items that are next on my list to shoot!
I’m hoping that the desk refresh allows me to get inspired and get out of this creative rut. If you want to give your own office a refresh, you can find all of Cynthia Rowley’s office supplies at Quill.com. What do you do in your office to keep you motivated and inspired?
