2 New Year’s Eve Looks That Can Double as Workwear
Thanks to Ann Taylor for partnering on this post!
It’s this time of the holidays that I really start feeling relaxed. Work is winding down, projects are completed and even my inbox is relatively under control! All those things are a big part of the reason why this is really my favorite time of the year. Not only do we get to celebrate and visit family and friends, but we get to just chill.
We’re heading to Denver—tonight—and I can guarantee that for the majority of our trip, we’ll be relaxing. The break always acts as a bit of a reset for me. Does it for you? I sleep late and take naps when I’m tired, and I even get in a better workout routine—crazy, I know, but it happens every year.
The other crazy thing about Christmas being just 4 days away, is that New Year’s Eve is just 9 days away! Last year we bailed on New Year’s plans and spent the night curled up on the couch, going outside just before midnight to see the Chicago Star Rising celebration that started last year. While I loved every second of that night, I’m pretty excited to have plans with friends this year.
Two of our friends are moving to Denver in January and New Year’s Eve will act a bit like a going away celebration for them. I did some shopping last week and scooped up two New Years Eve outfits from Ann Taylor that are perfect for New Year’s Eve, but can just as easily be worn to work! I still have a sequined party dress in my closet I wore to New Year’s Eve two years ago and I haven’t worn it again since then, so in my opinion, pieces like this are a much better investment.
Look 1: Sleeveless Sweater Dress | Butterfly Statement Earrings | Scalloped Pumps
I love a classic white dress in winter. It’s so fresh and unexpected. This one is ultra-cozy and could easily be layered over a turtleneck or paired with a jacket for a little extra warmth. I spotted these butterfly earrings and had to have them. I love green, especially in the winter. It’s like a little burst of sunshine and nature on cold grey days. This gorgeous cashmere cardigan (in my closet!) would be a perfect cozy layer too!
Look 2: Ruffle Cuff Blouse, just restocked! | Flared Sweater Skirt | Mila Velvet Pumps
The combination of dusty rose and navy is one of my favorite color combinations. It’s so classic and pretty! I love it paired with leopard pumps, but if those aren’t appropriate for your office, switch them out for something more neutral.
Where are you spending the holidays this year? What NYE plans do you have?
