Real talk—when was the last time you washed your hair?
Are you one of those people that washes your hair everyday? Or, do you fall in the camp where you go as long as you possibly can before washing it again?
Personally, I fall somewhere in between. When I go “a long time” between washes, that typically means 3 days. By day 3, my hair is greasy and I can’t imagine going another day because I simply don’t want anyone to see my hair looking like that.
But, as a mom, I honestly don’t always have the time to wash my hair on a regular basis. I’m balancing motherhood, trying to keep our home somewhat tidied and a job! Believe it or not, washing my hair is time consuming, because it’s not just washing my hair. It’s drying it and styling it, which as you guys know, takes time! Too much time most days!
I was so excited when Pantene came out with their new Pantene Waterless Collection, which made up of products that require NO WATER, but still clean your hair! Did you hear that?! Waterless!!!! It’s a busy mom’s dream come true!
Your hair can look clean for longer than normal without actually washing it! I can’t tell you how much I wished this was around when Owen was a tiny baby—I would have loved if my hair looked beautiful, even when I hadn’t showered in days, ha! I’m sure plenty of you can understand that sentiment.
I thought it would be fun to test the new Pantene Waterless Collection with a little challenge and see just how long I could go without washing my hair. Like I said, the longest I’d ever gone was 3 days, so this time around I wanted to go 4, maybe even 5 days! Take a look for yourself!
Day 0
Last week, I washed and dried my hair and decided that would be the kick-off day for my challenge. Admittedly, I was already a little nervous because I typically do most of my workouts the latter half of the week, but it made the challenge even better!
Day 1
No issues on this first day, after one day, I typically think my hair looks better than it did on day one. Knowing I was going for a long streak here, I really tried to touch my hair less—I’m so bad about running my fingers through the roots of my hair, which makes it greasy.
Day 2
Still good! I wore my hair mostly in a ponytail because I had gone to Pure Barre that morning. Thankfully, I didn’t get too sweaty. I always find that wearing it up one day helps because I’m less likely to touch it when it’s pulled back.
Day 3
I was home with Owen and that means we spend almost our entire day outside. And, it was hot. By the end of the day my hair was starting to look a lot dirtier, but not horrible! I still managed to go out to dinner with a friend and look pulled together.
Day 4
This is when things start getting dicey! I went to see my trainer this morning and came home and my hair looks BAD. Greasy, sweaty and in desperate need of being cleaned. Plus, I was on day three, so it wasn’t a surprise that it was no longer looking fresh.
So I put the Pantene Waterless Collection to the test! I separated my hair into smaller sections and started with the Pantene Cheat Day Dry Shampoo Foam. I put a small amount of the mousse in my hand and then massaged into the roots of my hair, section by section. I let it dry, and then brushed it out and blow dried it a bit to style it. I also used the Pantene Mist Behaving Dry Conditioner Mist on the ends. It’s a dry conditioner that restores shine back to your hair while controlling frizz and helps it look and feel softer.
I finished styling and voila! Here’s the before and after! Can you believe it?!
Day 5
I woke up to pretty hair again! It looked amazing all day and best of all, it FELT amazing! You know how regular dry shampoo can make your hair feel and look dry? The Pantene Cheat Day Dry Shampoo Foam doesn’t!
I did eventually wash my hair this evening because we had brunch plans the next morning with friends, but I easily could have gone another day if I had wanted!
How Dry Shampoo Foam Work?
Dry shampoos work by absorbing excess oil to keep hair feeling fresh and light.
Unlike typical dry shampoo, Pantene’s Cheat Day Dry Shampoo Foam is a foam that dissolves oil and gives your hair a total refresh with no water needed. It’s also sulfate-free, paraben-free and alcohol-free (YAY!). It actually makes your hair soft while it cleans, instead of feeling dry and stiff like some other dry shampoos.
It also doesn’t leave a chalky residue that dulls your hairs color. Instead it actually nourishes it with pro-vitamin B5 and orchid flower water.
I finished up my hair with the Pantene Mist Behaving Dry Conditioning Mist which is perfect for dry, color-treated hair, which I love because coloring my hair has definitely dried out the ends a bit. This product is also free of sulfates and parabens!
If your hair is fine, I’d recommend trying the Pantene Never Tell Dry Shampoo Spray as it will help give you a little volume too!
If you’re like me and don’t have a lot of time to get a full wash in multiple times a week, I highly recommend you try out the new Pantene Waterless Collection! I’ll definitely be using this on a weekly basis to save me time and still feel amazing! Pick up the new collection at your local Kroger or Mariano’s to find out!
How long can YOU go?!
