It’s crazy to think that I’m already starting to think about wearing puffers again, but in Chicago, it’s inevitable! I haven’t bought many puffers over the years, in fact, I still have the one I first bought when I moved here, but you know what? It’s not that cute. It’s functional for sure, but it’s not something I really want to go out to dinner in, ya know?
You can imagine my excitement, when one of my favorite brands, Everlane, launched their very own collection of outerwear called ReNew AND it’s made completely of plastic bottles! The line includes some really cute puffers too! Would you ever have guessed that my coat was made from up-cycled plastic?!
It’s warm, beautifully made and honestly, never would I have guessed that it was made from plastic. Everlane, you killed it with these!
I’m definitely not the model of sustainability over here, but as I get older, I’ve become more and more aware of how much waste we create on a daily basis. Hint, it’s a lot, and even more with a baby. So, I’ve been trying to reduce our household’s waste in small ways like bringing reusable bags to the grocery store, recycling boxes from packages, using a reusable water bottle when I leave the house and freezing food when it’s getting close to passing it’s prime. I really really wanted to start composting, but since we don’t have a garage or backyard, I decided to hold off for the moment (I’ve heard it smells pretty bad).
If my clothing can also be sustainable, I’m all in! The rest of my outfit is also from Everlane. If you’ve been stopping by this little blog of mine for a while, you’ll know that this brand is one of my favorites. They do basics so well and their shoes are super high-quality, and a fraction of the cost of what you’d find at other retailers. They recently revamped their whole line of denim and it is SO good! I love this cropped pair of black jeans and these boss boots—the definitely make me feel like a cool mom.
Lastly, if you want cashmere, but hate the multi-hundred dollar price tags (girl, I feel ya), take a look at Everlane’s cashmere collection. I’m wearing their classic v-neck sweater which is so soft and is only $100—for cashmere! I also got this sweater (worn here), and I’m obsessed with the color for fall!
This whole look, and especially this coat will be getting lots of use this winter. If you’re in need of a winter coat, I highly suggest you go check out Everlane’s ReNew line—there’s heavy coats, light ones—something for every climate!
P.S. If you’re going to the gym today, don’t forget your reusable water bottle!
Thanks to Everlane, a brand I love and trust, for sponsoring this post! Partnerships like this help make The Fox & She possible!
