If you haven’t heard of Sezane, then you’re in for a treat—this French brand has a cult-like following and regularly drops new collections every few weeks. Their pieces from clothing to shoes to handbags are always unique, interesting and well-made, making it one of my favorite places to shop for classic basics as well as statement pieces.

What Are Sezane Bags Made From?

When you’re buying a leather bag, you want to make sure it’s actually leather—right? So are Sezane bags made from real leather? The answer is YES.

Most of Sezane’s leather bags are made from 100% vegetable-tanned smooth cowhide leather, 100% bovine vegetable tanned leather, or 100% smooth cowhide leather, and occasionally embossed leather and well as suede goatskin leather. The straw totes are made with raffia and cowhide leather.

The interior lining is typically made with 100% cotton.

In my most recent order, there was a small canvas Sezane tote bag that I fell in love with! It has fun pink stripes and a big “BONJOUR” across the front in a fun font so I did some searching to see if you could actually buy one.

They’re a little harder to find on their website, but you can grab a more elevated version of that tote bag too. It’s perfect for everyday use too—going to the grocery, the beach, the pool and you don’t have to worry about it getting wet since it’s made from 100% recycled canvas.

The design is super simple and classic but perfect for so many occasions. It would even be great to pack in your suitcase as an extra bag for any shopping you might do!

There are so many good options both used and new on Poshmark and it’s updating constantly! The photos aren’t always the best, but because you’re typically bying from another user, you can get really great prices.

eBay is another great spot to look for used and new Sezane bags at lower prices. You may be able to come across some pieces from older collections that are no longer available. I do like that many offers have a buy it now option because auctions stress me out!
